StopTech® introduces a new line of StopTech® Racing Friction Materials that brings the company’s “Brake Late, Finish First” philosophy to a wide range of racing disciplines. The  pads complement the company’s wide range of high performance and replacement brake friction.

The new race-specific pads are engineered to provide optimal friction levels for shorter stops, increased control through superior pedal modulation, and fade-free performance at extreme racing temperatures. StopTech® Racing pads are designed to provide superior performance in any racing brake system and engineered to match the outstanding performance capabilities expected of all StopTech® Racing Balanced Brake Systems.

StopTech’s® unique metallic compounds are blended with carbon and graphite particles to provide an optimal high temperature race friction material. The result is smoother, more predictable and more consistent brake engagement along with exceptional release characteristics not found in most other racing friction materials.

StopTech® engineers work directly with race teams, often track-side, to gather valuable experience in dynamic real world conditions. Data is immediately integrated into the research and development process, resulting in optimized brake systems for individual racing programs.

 

SR33 Compound

  • Slight reduction in torque compared to SR34 Compound
  • Excellent pedal modulation for applications requiring a medium friction level
  • Flat torque curve with temperature rise
  • Extreme fade resistance
  • Great for rear applications that require less friction but same level of control as SR34 Compound

 

The SR33 Pad is available for the following Stoptech Brake calipers:

STR-21

The lightweight STR-21 caliper was designed to be used for the rear axle that requires less pad volume than the STR-22 and non-vented, solid rotors. This package can be implemented in smaller wheel diameters, typical of most front-wheel drive race cars. Even with its smaller size, the STR-21 maintains caliper stiffness and optimal pad wear to provide the best performance in its class.

STR-22

StopTech’s legacy two-piston caliper is popular for rear axle applications that use varying thicknesses of vented rotors. Like the STR-60 and STR-40, the STR-22 is the benchmark for two-piston calipers in design content and versatility. It utilizes StopTech’s range of available piston sizes, while controlling pad taper with an offset bore and steel abutments.

STR-40

The STR-40 is the most versatile caliper in the StopTech lineup. Widely used in StopTech Big Brake Kit offerings, the STR-40’s versatility is optimized through an extensive selection of piston size combinations to provide precise force output for each application. Internal cross-over passages and dust boots further extend the versatility of the STR-40 into uses such as the popular STOR-40 Off-Road caliper

STR-41

The STR-41 provides the performance of the STR-40, but in a smaller package. As a popular rear caliper choice, it can be implemented on a wide range of rotor diameters while providing the necessary piston size range for the perfect force output.

STR-42

The STR-42 is the smallest and lightest 4-piston caliper developed from StopTech. Designed with high fluid pressures and forces in-mind, the STR-42 is the preferred option for blade type rotor systems. The stiff, lightweight STR-42 caliper provides a level of performance that did not exist before.

The STR-42 embeds the same race-winning paradigms of low mass, stiffness and application flexibility found throughout our caliper line in a package perfect for off-road, rally, circle track, formula cars and production base sports and compact cars.

STR-43

The STR-43 is engineered with the same race-winning design paradigms used in the whole range of StopTech STR calipers, but on a smaller scale to fit smaller rotor and wheel diameters. It is also an immediate upgrade as a direct replacement for existing calipers in its class. The caliper’s structure and bolt placement makes this one of the stiffest calipers out there.

STR-60

One of the legacy StopTech calipers, the STR-60 consistently proves that a well engineered caliper can provide race-winning results. Through its forged precursors, the fully machined STR-60 is transformed into a robust six-piston caliper than has seen numerous podiums in many levels of pro-racing, from grassroots races to World Challenge GT class.
